Dr Simon Stephens

Programme Manager Innovate+

A graduate of the University of Galway and Lancaster University, Simon has worked in higher education for over twenty years. Initially, as a researcher, lecturer and supervisor, and over the past decade making the transition to managerial roles. As programme manager he ensures that Innovate+ meets its ambitious targets, utilises resources in an appropriate, efficient and sustainable manner, in order to address enterprise skills and training needs. He has worked in a range of roles on research projects funded by ERDF, Erasmus+, INTERREG, HORIZON and PEACEPLUS. He is an active supervisor to PhD and DBA students. His current research explores the lives of entrepreneurs and their ecosystems. His recent publications appear in R&D Management, Entrepreneurship & Regional Development and Entrepreneurial Behaviour and Research.
